Nature Sig – A visit to Lesley’s Garden

Over the course of two weekends in June, a total of ten members of our club went to Lesley’s house (well, mainly garden) for a session on macro photography. After a brief chat about technique they were let loose in search of bugs.

There were lots of bees, highlights being pantaloon bees and green eyed flower bees. We found a ruby tailed wasp, only 1cm long but very beautiful. There were several meadow brown butterflies as well as large whites and a couple of holly blues. Other finds included shield bugs, grasshoppers and a jumping spider. Each session ended with a cup of tea and a chat.
